I have an intermitant working speedo!
how does the speedo work my revs work ok etc but the speedo doesnt!
My car is a ABF converted to VR using an ABV engine, i have issues already with the car running the wrong throttle cable!
So i am wondering if the speedo cable is wrong?
Cheers Rob

They do not use a speedo cable but a sensor of the gearbox, you will need VR clocks to get the correct readings.

I think the clocks are correct because the speeds read ok, or do you mean the revs?
Does anyone have a pic of the sensor that i need to sort out?
Is it a case of cleaning it or replace?

Do your clocks go to 160mph and 70 (7000rpm) ??
As Wayne said the valver clocks will not work correctlly with the VR lump.
The speed sensor is on top of the dif housing on the back of your gearbox, its a hall sender type sensor so they do go faulty from time to time, bit of a pita to get to but a doddle to change, look down the back right hand side of the engine, where the driveshafts meet the gearbox, the sensor is bang in the middle with a 3 pin plug to it.

Cheers Bud will double check the clocks :)
Will see if my other gear box has a sensor on it :)
