When fitting a Vr6 Maf sensor do you require a different TIP or is the normal Forge TIP ok?
Engine code is AUM.
I have used the search function and nothing comes up.
-
You dont need VR6 on a AUM...
-
Not at all?
Thats good to know!
-
nope!
-
depends what spec he's going for doesn't it Chris?
You would never fit a VR6 housing or sensor though, as it's the totally wrong type for an AUM. if you require a larger housing for an AUM, you use the S3 / LCR / TT housing, and you can retain your sensor in the larger housing.
If you're on the ko3S though it's not needed, although many tuners will want one for a hybrid.

Cheers Prawny, The car in question has been having problem with the maf,
If was failing every so often, The induction kit was replaced with a standard airbox and filter,
It ran great for a few months, Fitted a new piper cross panel filter, Dry filter so no oil and 3 days later the MAF has failed again.
Anyone know why?
-
Are they genuine parts? Bosch units?
-
Yep! lasted fine with the standard filter but again problems as soon as we moved away from standard.
The MAF is still under garantee so its going back tomorro

That is just bad luck sorry mate, Iv had mine on for a good while. Iv even sold one to Wazzer and never had any problems either.
Iv got one spare left but its in my VR6 maf housing now ready for my remap.
I always keep atleast one spare

Loads of people run panel filters, standard filters and cone filters without problems. I know some Gen items are dodgy from factory but thats pretty rare id say. Hopefully after this new one itl be cool.
-
Hopefully mate, I get a fed of the calls, lol
'Can you bring the laptop in ?'
The car runs great otherwise. Really nice car.
-
Whats the code? MAF low signal something implausable isi?
-
I'm running the one you sold me at the mo mate, no problems with it at all
-
Thats what I mean mate they usually pretty good. Iv honestly had no problems with them but have heard a few people saying how unreliable they are lol
-
Ill get the codes in the morning,
-
Don't u need one when your goung Map them like stage 2 ?
-
Nope, around 225-230bhp is your limit on the AGU MAF
