hi guys,
i started on stripping the engine loom out the vr6 yesterday and got stuck when coming to pulling them out the bay due to the dam master cylinder round disc thing being right in the way, i tried unbolting from the inside but couldn’t find which nut or nuts hold it to the bulkhead.
thing is the cars outside so had to leave it last night with the wires/connecters exposed so hoping it doesn’t rain as only managed to get a few bin liners to cover them up
how do i loosen the round cylinder thing? its so dam annoying as I’m so close to getting the loom out

The servo assy will be bolted from inside, 3 or 4 nuts from memory.
-
yes as wayne says check around behind the brake pedal as thats where the piston comes through and there is I think 3 nuts holding it on though it could be 4
-
thanks guys i'll check again must of been the pedal box nuts ive loosened off, its very hard to get to them, just didnt want to have to remove the steering colum
-
you wont be able to take the servo out as the piston is connected to the back of the brake pedal, but you can pull it forward enough to get the loom through

hi dan
yep just wanted the room to pull the loom out with the rubber bung on, erm i spent at least and hour + half trying to sort this yesterday, i cant see the bolts i need to get it off :undecided:
are they behind something?

tbh I cant remember it was over a year ago when I id mine, I think they are on the inside around where the piston comes through near the brake pedal. here's a diagram of the setup

Just come back to this post to say a big thanks, engine loom is now out, not easy at all I had to remove steering colum in the end to gain access to the bolts to the master, anyone doing this I can say if you do this you will save time as I spent 2 hours looking at how to get round it without removing or loosening things off and in the end took 30 mins to do the above and it was out.
There's no room at all behind and by pulling on the loom your at risk of damaging the wiring and ending up with a harder job of re-wiring if you don't loosen off besides I don't think there's room to pull it without doing this, someone might correct me on this.
