Why is that mate . ?

im currently doing a 20vt conversion and i was in your situation about a year ago asking whats better and everyone i spoke to said dont bother with the vr6 do the 1.8T i havent got mine going yet so i cant tell you what i got myself into but from what i hear it is easier than the vr6 and alot more affective being a turbo engine! and you can get alot more power from the 1.8T with less money, unless you want to turbo the vr6? that will cost a bomb lol but everyone is different  but i havent done or looked much into a vr6 conversion so i cant tell you much about that tbh

let me know what you end upo going with if its a 1.8T im more than happy to share some knowlegde i have gained in the last year!! good luck with it

i would buy a whole mk3 vr with manuel box if you have the space as you can use nearly everything off it, the 20v t would be better in the long run but if this is your first engine conversion i would stick to the vr as this is  much more forgiving on your pocket ,i did one last year for 500 minus the mk2 shell .

if you get a complete vr you would use the brakes of that , if not the mk2 16v ,g60 are a simple opp.

The mk2 is already a 1.8 gti 16v . So will them breaks be sufficient enough.  ?
