Title: ABS Plastic Bumper Fitting FINISHED
Post by: Hoggy on 14 August 2012, 21:47
Well the kind UPS man dropped it off today so I thought I best get it fitted! :)

Was a bit worried about the fit of it as I've heard mixed reviews but took the plunge anyway..(wasn't for paying genuine)  :lipsrsealed:

Well here's the trial fit

Not a bad fit at all I thought and pretty pleased overall :)

Taking it to the paint shop tomorrow to get it sprayed!

Got to get them silver meshes painted black too  Before getting genuine grills ofcorse ;)

Will post more pics when sprayed up and fitted!

Cheers, Hoggy.

I have brand new coilovers and Audi TT ARB gathering dust in my room and a full anni kit waiting for paint. It's agonising

was that the wagonworx one? as i git this one and i agree its a bang on fit... just gotta get the grills too as they look like youve just driven thru halfords

The fit looks good, but none of the replica ones look good enough for me to get one :undecided:

There's something not quite right about them, they look too square. I'm sure it'll look great when it's painted up though, you going to fit a LCR splitter?
Title: Re: ABS Plastic Bumper Fitting
Post by: GTi_James on 15 August 2012, 11:00
i was gonna get this one but was unsure  :undecided: let us know how the grills fit when you get a chance with it, and i'm still sourcing glue for that material you have, found one from USA where it stands up to 200C heat

will let you know, currently got my cousin in Caroliner to test this claim if not i have found a few other sprays to use but nothing that im satisfied with

Looking good so far..Have been mulling this up too as opposed to paying Scene Tax for Anni Spliter. Plus my standard bumper is full of chips so could do with a re-spray anyway.
Title: Re: ABS Plastic Bumper Fitting
Post by: Hoggy on 15 August 2012, 16:58
Yea scene tax is criminal! I just fancied a change from standard :)

Don't think it was a wagonworx bumper, Jom I think. Cant go wrong for £90 brand new.

Yes, definately a hint of Halfords!! Haha

i used a bit of tigerseal and and some well hidden self tappers for the gen grills
Title: Re: ABS Plastic Bumper Fitting
Post by: Hoggy on 15 August 2012, 18:44
Yea Tigerseal fixes all problems ;)

Will have to see what the mesh looks like when its black. Then eventually get the gen grills and most certainly the Lcr splitter!!

Thinking of going with a like square number plate, to the side rather than the rectangle one, what you think?

Keeping standard mesh at the minute as it doesn't look too bad, L.C.R splitter next thougg.

Should hopefully stick my headlining back up at the weekend first though ;)
