Title: AUM Misfiring problems
Post by: zorg86 on 14 August 2012, 16:58
Ok car starts fine from cold and runs perfectly fine but as sonn as it gets up to temp.... then problems start.....

Car misfires and it seems to be cylinder 3 (diagnostic raised this and also an airflow problem) However to date i have changed...

Coilpacks (on recall)
Spark Plugs
Had to have one helicoil put in (however was still having same problems prior to this being done)
MAF
Air filter (back to standard)
Coil wiring loom

There is no sign of water loss, old plugs wasn't glazed, some condensation out of exhaust however the car has been sat for nearly 6mths now anyway (reason it sat there so long as problems started 6mths ago) had whiff test done no signs showing there.

Also just to add just had car running took each coil pack out in turn noticed zero difference on cylinder 3. The injector do look like the O-Rings need changing

Anybody shed some light, or evne suggestions.... I was thinking doing the following.....

remove injectors clean them over night (in soak)
Bypass N112/N249 (don't know where this located though)
Change fuel filter (again not sure of location)

I am at my witts end with the car at the minute and is becoming a major frustation (i have had it remapped someone said this could be problem, not sure if they are right though)

PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!

Have you had a compression check done? Both hot and could plus wet and dry?

you say that taking no3 coil out while running makes no difference, have you checked for power going to that coil?

Update to post

Just took out coil 3 and its not sparking consistently. So I swapped over with coil one and its not the coilpack

Could it be crank sensor or fuel relay?

Any ideas?

Coil pack harness might have degraded?  Take a look at the wire insulation, if its knackered there's a guide in the how-to section.

Well the 3rd coil isn't sparking properly

Could it be crank sensor
