Just fitted a Milltek cat-back non-res with 4mo style tips. really impresses with build quality. I have no other mods and it pops and bangs quite alot on pull away and when changing gear. Should this be happening?
I have also just ordered a milltek downpipe and de-cat and piperX panel filter. Will this be too loud for a daily with the non-res?
While we are here (i know this next question has been covered a million times before but im on my phone
and being lazy) if i have the full turbo back, panel filter with smoothed air box and forge 007p will i need anything else to go for a stage 2 remap?
Thanks for any advice guys :)

Whats your engine code?
Youl need a decent fmic for stage 2 nowadays and a forge actuator to keep the waste gate closed with high boost.
How wide is the exhaust mate? Stage 2 would ideally need 2.75" or 3" from turbo back.
-
Engine is AGU. Was thinking FMIC wasn't sure if was needed tho. Think the milltek is 3" downpipe and 2.75" for the rest
-
what does a forge actuator look like ?
-
That's the exhaust I want but torn between that and a turbo back like wazzzer
Exactly how loud is loud though?
-
I've got the same 3"downpipe and miltech but my rear is r32 and it's loud bangs and pops it noisy want a silencer put in
-
Miltek is 2.5" cat back
A fmic would be best and Also a bigger maf, injectors and might as well get a k03s
-
i have a full miltek non rez system on my 1999 agu with de-cat not loud at all.
popping is good by the way lol
-
You will need a k03s end of. Stage one will push the little k03 to 200bhp that it!
You can throw what you like at it youl struggle to make anymore gain.
AGU with K03s, THS fmic, 3inch or 2.75inch turbo back exhuast an forge 007p your laughing.
Then once thats done go further with forge actuator, calibra injectors an VR6 MAF.
 Thats my current route atm.
-
Jamie, 2.75 or 3'' turbo back just isn't needed on a ko3S, 2.5'' pipe work doesn't become a restriction until over 300bhp really. I'm happily running 300bhp on my car with a 2.5'' milltek catback and it flows brilliantly.
Is there really much to be gained from doing the injectors and MAF at st2 keeping the ko3s? the turbo is near on maxxed out anyway with the stock injectors and MAF, so the gains can't be THAT big can they?
-
I agree with prawny with the 2.5" exhaust bein fine on a stage 2
But arnt the agu injectors smaller then tr aum? As they run out of steam at about 250bhp don't they?
-
This was advised by R-tech (Nick)
AGU running K03s forge actuator,
Forge 007p,
THS front mount,
VR6 maf,
Calibra injectors,
2.75 or 3inch with decat
This set up would see around 250bhp. If the 2.5 would be fine im gutted now as iv just paid for 3inch right through to a 2.5 backbox

A 2.5" system would definatly be fine as prawny said that's what he is runnig with 300bhp and r tech golf when it was runnig 280bhp also had the 2.5 miltek system.
Can I ask why you would go to the effort of getting a full 3" system and then bolting a 2.5" back box on? This would surely create back pressure and slow the exhaust flow
-
Arh mate not my choice lol He doesnt have a backbox their made up and if I want it a 3inch backbox too then il have to wait until next week. Next week its booked in Rtech again so too late.
Im always in a rush getting things done thats my problem.

It's always the same mate
Either way that set up will be fine for up to and probably over 300bhp
-
Thats good news
Im in need of a new rear valance now.

I'm pretty certain Niki is talking about the downpipe in that spec!
Nobody to my knowledge makes a 2.75 or 3'' catback system off the shelf for the mk4, excluding the ebay system from america that has recently come to light.
All Millteks for ko3/s cars are 2.5'', ko4 based milltek catbacks are 2.75''.
AGU injectors are indeed smaller than AUM ones, but the AGU injectors will fuel for 240ish bhp happily enough. The MAF, injectors, and ko3S all run to a limit at about the same point on an AGU.
calibra injectors and VR6 MAF give a little headroom for sure, but overall figures won't be MUCH higher. 250bhp from a ko3S is still very rare, 240 isn't so rare, but 250 isn't often achieved, even with nikis ultra magic mapping skills!
-
Yeah but I would like to get the uprated maf and injectors as if it turned out the injectors werner performing as well as they should I would be gutted
-
We will see next week same spec as mine at his place running watermeth is 260bhp.
Mine is going without.
Chris was runnin near 250bhp an iv gotta beat him lol
Whilst at Rtech Niki an Jim both spoke to the guy who built my exhaust an both agreed that either 2.75 or 3" is needed for maximum flow
-
i thought stanadard agu injectors were limited to 220,230
-
