Right, following a discussion earlier with my local garage owning mate he was shocked to hear the miles I do a week ! :undecided:
So, what mileage do you do on a regular weekly basis to and from your one place of work !
Do not include miles done at work, etc Or those done if you travel as part of your job
Mine is just under 300 a week
-
I 'commute' home every other week...Monthly I do 800+ :lipsrsealed:
-
My commute is roughly 375 yards X3 Thursday, Friday, Saturday I sometimes walk, these are the days I'm usually late

meh, I used to do that in a week until recently.
I used to do up to 3-4k a month! :lipsrsealed:
Now I'm only doing 200 a week but not sure for how much longer
-
For the past 5 years Ive drove a minimum of 500 commuting miles a week sometimes 700 miles.
Add in my personal miles I do 50-100 a week...
Need a new job
-
Mine is just under 300 a week
More than that, and at less than 35mpg. Diesel time soon....
-
i am currently doing 250 a week thats only monday to friday though
-
Bout 300 per week. Unless im in multiple offices then add 100 on
-
My dad claimed he used to do 125 odd miles a DAY for work there and back... Just checked with google maps and he was true.... (Its more like 65 miles as the only postcode I know near his old work place is about 5 miles away)
So was doing 625 miles a week in his Diesel Clio for 5 years... Feel sorry for him tbh :o
Thanks god he doesn't do it any more :)
-
Approximately 450 mileszp a week including using the m25 :(
-
My commute is 14-15 miles each way, but it's in London. So if I drove it everyday, I would be doing 150miles a week.
But since I work in central London, in the congestion zone, I only drive on nightshifts and Sundays, which accounts for at most 2 days per week.
The other days, I use the train, which costs about £8 per day.
So on average my commuting car mileage is about 60miles per week.
-
About 180 miles a week but there are people i work with who travel 3 times that.
-
Ok so what about total time for the commute.
My daily commute takes 1hr 15m each way, so that's 12hr 30min per week. The joy of commuting in London.
-
63 miles a day. Takes me 40 minutes each way. Add in mileage for when i do remaps and im currently averaging 500 miles a week
Done more than 20k since this time last year
-
Mine was only about 60 miles a week until recently. Live on the base atm, bloody DIO ops still not allocated us a second house. Moving out of ours on Friday as the tenants are in Next Monday, so gotta live with the f**king Mother in law until its sorted!
-
15 / 20 miles a week and nearly always cycle
-
I generally go into the office three days a week. This totals:
60 miles on the Golf3
30 miles on a boat
36 miles on a train
12 miles on foot
in a total of around 12 hours, as it takes about 2 hours each way, mostly due to trains arriving at the boat just as the boat leaves.
So if I was needed to be in the office five days one week I'd spend 20 hours just fooking commuting. I'm pretty careful I don't need to go into the office more than three days a week.
-
Im am around 6m from work. Total weekly commute time around 30seconds. Home office ftw.
On the odd occasion im at the actual office its about a 25min drive. Maybe once a month
-
covered 70 miles this week to work and odd trip to the girlfriends, only used £10 of fuel
-
Last job I did about 200 miles a week, with my current job it's only 80 a week
-
dificult one! as my 1st job of the day can be anywhere! sometimes 100 mile sometimes 10 miles! and the same with the return journey home after my last job! i cover about 1000-1500 a week! filling up every day! love the clubcard, nectar, and shell points tho! :undecided:
-
But thats working as a plummer driving to different jobs in a work van. Not what you cover driving from home to the work place
-

yep, I can rack up hundreds of miles a week ONCE at work, especially if its a nice car and needs Self Chammying when I am returning it to a customer
-
About 50 miles a week. Work is 4.5 miles away, If it's not raining I'll usually cycle.
-

my work is 16 miles away! but i go there on a monday morning to drop off paperwork! i get jobs sent through, so my office, is essentialy my home! and 1st job of the day, be it luton, bournmouth, essex or brighton!
-
There you go then you commute the same as R32UK.
I would love to have a work van and not worry about putting 30K a year on my own car and pay all the bills associated with doing that milage.
-
if im honest.. sometimes i dont even get out of bed
just make sure the laptop is bedside before i nod off
-
Just under 300 miles a week commuting and then about 150 a week personal miles.
As soon as the other half's through her test I'll be able to work from home, which I'm looking forward to as no longer will have to pay out for the fuel and the money on an office, so should be way better off again
-
Approximately 450 mileszp a week including using the m25 :(
I always pack the sleeping bag and emergency food ratios cause of that flippin' road!!
One of the jobs that I enjoyed the most I was doing 600-750 miles a week...Hated the driving but loved the job, nothing like a good radio show to keep you going!
-

if only it was! i hate the driving part!!!
still trying to get out onto the oil rigs! then its a 15 mile trip to gatwick, flight to aberdeen, then chopper off the beach!
-
If i work 5days then its about 70 miles a week, if 6 days then about 85 a week. I used to only use the Mk2 2 of those days, which meant i only did about 1500 in the Golf in the whole year!
-
approx 20 miles a week. I really want to cycle it but I've got no rear access to my garden so I'd have to haul my bike through the house every day
-
320 a week
-

40 miles a week for me, would love to cycle but a) i have to wear shirt n tie so would need clothes to change into and a shower.... b) I've been run over by a shogun and don't fancy a rematch :lipsrsealed:
I do park next to a river which sets the MK3 off nicely, may even use it to beat the traffic
-
If I get the job I'm after it's going to be 400 a week.
-
it's one of the good things about the island, you're never that far away from your place of work. The downside is the lack of fuel economy
-
Just started a job that'll be 400 miles a week, and that'll be in the integra. God knows what I was thinking
-
fook that dan
its bad enough filling up every 2 weeks :lipsrsealed:
your local garage and your good self will be on first name terms VERY soon
-
Haha, yeah i'll soon be racking up the vpower points!
It's only a 9 month contract, so I'm just gonna stick with it then if I get put on a permanent contract and diesel daily will have to happen!
-
In a week I normally cover about 0 miles driving
-
15 miles to work and 18 miles home, so roughly 165 miles a week ~ £45-£50 in fuel, overall with commuting and social driving I cover just over 1000 miles a month.
God bless the school holidays, it's taking me around 30 minutes to get to work, that's a 10mile drive to get to Oxford then a 5 mile drive through Oxford with naff all traffic at 8am  I take a different, more scenic route home, hence the +3 miles difference on the way back
-
Last week for me doing 250+ miles.
Back on the train to London next week
-
About 2 miles tops don't really need a car
-
If I cant be bothered to walk its about 1/4 mile each way.....so say 3 miles a weel inc saturday.
Prob takes me 45sec or so door to door.
-
400 - 500 to work a week between offices and then out seeing clients another 200 - 400
-
0.5 mile bike ride each way for me, BUT I go home for lunch, so that racks it up to an impressive 10 miles a week!
-
If I get the job I'm after it's going to be 400 a week.
Got the job so the hunt for a diseasal is on
-
150 miles for me over 5 days. Not too bad.
-
God, you lot on low mileage must be laughing.
500-1000 miles a week for me depending on where my company decides to send me. My local garage is loving me at the moment with oil change etc done every 2-3 months.
-
350 per week for work. + any weekend traveling so another 60
so about 1700 a month. :(
-
My 55 plate transporter will hit 230,000 on the way home tomorrow.
So on a average that's 631 miles a week
Do about 4000 miles a year in my mk3
-
350 a week but most of it is on fun roads so I don't really mind. Shame its in a lardy diesel
-
Takes me 25 min to walk to work. However we're moving offices soon so it'll be 4 miles away instead of 1 1/2. So I've bought a bike...
-
works about a mile away
but weekly miles tend to be 200 ish :)
-
i don't want to know how many miles i can do in a week.
passat seems to about 300 per week and i only really use it for the one place of work. can and another 100 on when working at weekend
personal record for a week is just under 4000  and £1k in fuel
-
