Try Gamestation.

Did they buy game out?

Depends if its a manufacturers warranty you are talking about. If the console is faulty and under manufacturers warranty then it can be repaired by any of their service centres, all you need is proof of purchase.
My company is a Panasonic Service Centre and we repair Panasonic equipment in and out of warranty, doesn't matter where it was purchased from... If its under warranty then Panasonic pay us for the repair, if not, the customer pays..

Sorry to post in an old topic but jst wanted to clear up a few things :)
I myself am a Manager for GAME retail ltd as we are now called, we used to be known as GAME LTD.
We havent gone bust, however we almost nerly did. we sold all our stores outside of the UK, and closed down non-profitable stores. so we have alittle over 300 stores (including Gamestation) as apposed to the 1600 we used to have.
GAME & Gamestation are the same company.
We bought Gamestation from Blockbuster video about 4 years ago when Blockbuster were in trouble.
We hit big problems and filed for administration in april of this year but a small company called Opcapita (the company that saved Commet) also took ownership of GAME & Gamestation.
So we are no longer a corp company we are now a private company hence why you may have noticed some games and short supply of stock since the take over ;)
The basic jist is now, if you don't order it theres a big chance you wont get it.
Soon to cut costs down all Gamestation stores will turn into GAME stores, don't worry if you have a points card all is the same :)
As for your qestion on warrenty, you are fully covered :)
