Title: Mk6 Gti rear brakes *updated*.
Post by: swgti on 11 August 2012, 21:00
Hi, has anyone got any decent pics of the rear brake set up on a 2010/11 onwards mk6 gti, I'm specifically looking for pics of the fitment of the brake pipe into the caliper. The reason I'm asking is that I've managed to pic up what I believe to be a set of Bosch type callipers off a late 2011 car to put on my mk5, everything fits other than the brake line so need to see how this fits and if anyone has the part No that would also be great as everwhere i go just has the same part as on my old mk5 calipers.

Thanks.

Stealers are being no help at all as I've not got the reg or chassis no of the car they came off, if I go with say the details of any 2011 onwards car am I likely to get the right pipes? I'm assuming that because they're so new that's why I can't find aftermarket items anywhere all.I can get is the same as my mk5 type.

Problem solved by the looks of it thanks to Walkinshaws at Workington, set up I've got appears to be exactly the same as an ED35, not sure if these are any different to std mk6 brakes but the piston is a lot bigger and they're capable of taking a much bigger pad than my old mk5 set.
