Title: Is there any key issues on an 8v?

I turn the key and sometimes nothing. Usually after a few attempts it fires. It had a new starter motor a few months ago. Battery is good.

Any ideas?

does it work when your wriggle the key? if so then its the ignition barrel

I'm thinking it either the key or the barrel, just wondered if it's a known weakness/issue

replace the ignition switch.

^^This, they wear over time, very common failure on mk3's.
