Title: Flat battery Again!!!!

My 16v keeps having a flat battery if not used for a couple of days. Alternator is charging but a couple of days later flat, iv just brought a new battery with a higher ah, I have a Clifford alarm on it nothing else since I disconnected the amp could it be the alarm?

simple solution is to disconnect alarm and see what happens!

Can almost guarantee that it is the alternator regulator

Does this mean the alternator needs reconditioning?

Not necessarily, you can just get the regulator.. easy to fit and not much more than a tenner to buy.

On my last mk2 I had the same problem, removed the alarm and it was fine afterwards, mine had a sigma alarm. Start with the easy stuff first though.
