Title: 1.8 t 2001 remap
Post by: geo geo on 11 August 2012, 07:11
Hi all

New to the golf scene and I just brought a 1.8 t mark 4.

Was looking into remap but don't know where I begin! Budget is £700

Could anyone give me advice on what Items to buy before remap and what remap is best?

I live in the south east and where would be best place to get it done?

Many thanks

George

When I got mine remapped to stage 1 I got a straight threw exhaust ( no middle box or cat ) then got a forge 007 dumpvalve, smoothed airbox with pipercross pannel filter. And it responded really well to the remap :)

£700

Forge DV = £80 ish
Induction options,  Pipercross filter = £34 or R-Tech RAM-CAI kit = £120
Ebay Decat system = £70
TIP = £100
R-Tech stage1 custom map = £250

Thats around £620 and 220bhp with a broad midrange curve which is expaned by the decat pipe.

You will need the other £70 to fix minor issue which we will find when mapping your car, such as leaking boost pipes and PVC pipes ect.....lol
