]has anyone had the paint laq peel off in large clumps? and is it covered by vw paint warranty?

What car? How long is the paint warranty on it? Have you asked VW if it is covered if its within warranty?

Depends if they have reason to think it is poorly repaired accident damage. Where on the car is the lacquer peeling? Do you have any pictures?

well im not very good with comps so no pics but it is peeling from the lower door panel  offside and as far as i know it hasnt had any repairs to the door ?

also i dont know if you can just have the thing re lacquerd ???? or a cheep fix or if this is just the start of somthing big ?

I've done a bit of research into this and it's a big job to have it done properly.

The cheapest way, if it's coming off in places all over the car is to vinyl wrap the whole car. £600-£800

I have the same problem though it was a cheap car so neither vinyl wrap or re-lacquering are viable so i'm replacing certain bits and rattlecanning the rest  :grin:

Problem with that though is the wrap lasts about 6 years or so. So for a few more hundred quid it's worth getting a job that will last many more years.
