Title: Gearbox painting
Post by: MC_PEA on 10 August 2012, 19:22
I'm not sort if this is the right place for it but when painting the gearbox would I need a high temperture paint like you would use on calipers and cam covers or would a tin of hammerite be alright
Cheers

Best to clean it thoroughly, etch primer and then spray high temp paint for a better finish. Hammerite will probably chip off quite easily.

Did mine in this way when it was out of the car and the finish is holding up well

I would think hammerite would be good for the job.
