Diff exploded and now has a hole in it.

That's not less than ideal.  That's sub-optimal.

Neither! Wish it was as I have a spare lump which could be raided for parts.

For whatever reason the diff's gone and the oils the gear oil dumping out. It stunk.

Forgot to say I pieced this thing back together and it ran out of fuel before I got to work

Got the new box in this weekend, but clutch won't bleed up, looks the hardline is fecked.

Hopefully get one today, but doesn't look promising.

yep. box in, but won't engage gears so think there is a bit of a diff stuck behind the pressure plate.

Can;t muster myself to spend the time dropping the box again, plus the money for a full clutch overhaul and tax is due too.

A man is hopefully coming this weekend to take it away and have it.

Bit of a p1sser as we still owe money on it, but I am not throwing anymore at it.

Mk3 tank wagon - £500 taxed and tested over my effort and time on the black car all day every day long.

As long as there is a breath left in my body, I will never own a mk4 again.

Oh dear.....
...but sounds like you picked up a good replcament for the money then.  Diesel estates of any kind can be hard to find for a fair price these days.
