Post by: big stevie on 06 August 2012, 18:15

Just found your old thread, same as me. My gauge is stuck at 10in hg rather than going all the way down to 22 like it used to. Been trying to get hold of the seller I got them from on ebay but no luck so far. Did you phone him?

yes mate pro gauge first gauge good for 6 months no problems then the needle wouldnt move smoothly and got stuck, had this one for just over a month and now its stuck on 10 and wont move at all, glad you told me of this guy  was a bit slow in replying but new one came quickly, im going to get a full refund and cost of postage i think as these gauges must be dodgy then, now to find a replacement blue one to go with my pro voltage  gauge which has been fine grrrrrrrrrrrr worth putting the post up then stay away from the pro  boost gauge.

right new this would happen update on pro gauge emailed guy about sending it back and came back with a load of crap i feel troubles ahead,  this is what he said

We have only ever had problems when people fit them DIY, the guages are very prone to voltage differences and if wires are not good low resistance they will give intermittent problems, it does say on the advert PROFESSIONAL FIT, please tell us if you had them fitted by an auto electrician ?

Regards
symon

what a joke of a reply the gauge is run from air preasure the only wires are for lighting it up for gods sake and now saying to have pro fitted, ive been modding cars for 23 years and fitted numerous boost gauges i feel im going to get fobbed off and will have to take up a dispute see what his reply is now will keep updated.

just emailed the guy who had trouble with 2 gauges like myself to see what the outcome was, but what with him and wazzer and me hopefully i will get somewhere with this as this is not on i think.

update just got reply from dan who has had trouble with seller and told he keeps getting fobbed off by him so i think a dispute is on the cards to be honest.

a dispute it is then mate. I've just sent another email so we'll see what he says. My mate at work is fully qualified to fit electronics to submarine distress buoy controllers for the MOD so I'll get him involved if needs be

Yep see what he has to say on matter and go from there, it states recommended fitting by professional 3 wires for fitting if you use dimmer come on not rocket science the wiring.

I've just loosened the big nut on the back of the gauge and it seems to go past 10 in hg now... Will test in the car tomorrow but you might want to look at yours mate

this is what i got from seller today, ive had enough after 2 gauges now and dont fancy moving the nut as mines painted with green paint and bet guy will say you have tampered with it and thats why it wont work.

Ok Mate, Based on the fact that we have very few problems, we can assume that a third faulty item will be very very unlikely, please return it to us with your full address and we will exchange it a final time,.
regards,
Paul,,mark it for my attantion.and put your filled in paperwork inside.Your returns number is

Symon

dont like the final time bit if you ask me if items not working theres no final time, ive asked for full refund on item and im sure he is going to offer just a replacement which sorry i dont want as i have no faith after 2 of them, guy on ebay had 2 aswell so thats 5 that are faulty now not good if you ask me.
