Nice bay dude!
I'm thinking of a similar set up in the boot. I take it you've dumped your spare wheel? How do you like meth?
-
Chris is your wmi plumbed into the intercooler or inlet?
Iv seen one at R-tech his is directly into top of inlet manifold.
I to buy a kit but im clueless when fitting something like this, how easy isit?
-
very easy
-
Any good DIY's?
-
theres a good guide on seatcupra.net i will try find it you and the one youve seen at rtech is nicks devils own direct port wmi.
-
Awsome cheers mate.
Yeah Nick has it an its on another mk4 running 260bhp on ko3s
-
I think that's his missus car lol

here's a little write up from my build thread about my WMI install, sorry if it reads disjointed, I've copied it across:
1 gallon replacement AEM WMI kit arrived, so I started making up some mounts for the tank:
An Ultra High-tech tubular clamping tank retention system developed. (absolutely, definitely, not exhaust clamps)
And the tank was hung:
Pump mounted, i toyed with a few locations, but this was the best by far:

I finished installing my WMI system at the weekend:
Started by mounting the controller. The AEM kit has the loom coming out the side, with visable wires. I didn't want this, so set about mounting it so the wires would be totally hidden:
Controller mounted in the lower dash panel:
All wired up, earths run to the central earth point under the dash:
Lives run to one of the main feeds in from the battery. I spliced the two controller feeds (Power and LED) together and put them on a spade connector so I can easily remove the lower dash panel in future without having to cut any wires:

Dash back in with LED mounted for the WMI

Onto the pipework, this was my old cold side pipe setup:

One WMI boss welded up for my by Bill:

AEM nozzle test fitted:
I had to trim the throttle body hose down a tad, as the new pipe from Bill was a bit longer, but it all went in nicely:

All finished :)

Results on the road are very good indeed, intake temps are down by 10 degrees on a 20s run at WOT, so very pleased with that. Peak inlet temps after 20s were 21 degrees on a really warm day, so a top result. It feels stronger too, like a cold damp morning, but every single time you put your foot down. Couldn't ask for more!
-
Was checking my intake temps on rollers yesterday was down to 4deg really impressed with that.

Iv just been accepted for a credit card £3750 :lipsrsealed:
Never had credit before and im 23 lol
WMI is definatley on the cards but im struggling to find where to buy methonal?
Is the tank do you fill 50/50 of meth and water?
Grhhh I need to do my own research I think.

After a long discussion with fellow wmi users it drew to the conclusion that the best place to install the wmi injector was on the outlet (cold side) of the intercooler pipework before the throttle body to allow maximum time for cooling/atomising of the charge!
The kit is rediculously easy to fit, Few very basic tools needed and the instructions are very good! if you do get stuck devils own have there own forum on there website with members constantly online to help you out
Nice bay dude!

Nope if you possition the pump in the right place you can still get the spare wheel in like me! WMI is night and day difference, Played a huge roll in the figures I produced after my remap. highly recomended and methanol/water at 40pence a litre its hardly bank braking

you mean like this

Don't do it!!!
Credit cards a evil, evil things

Haha Il be sensible just need to build my cred record now ready for grown up stuff like a house lol
But this will pay for wmi nicely for now :lipsrsealed:
Iv promised my misses once iv had the remap on my AGU hopefully running 250bhp upwards no more
(just need to try my best and keep it)

Looks good. I think my boot is similar?
I was hoping to fit it in the cut out section where the boot light is if it'll fit. Then the pump in the spare wheel well below? Im planning on getting the AEM kit off eBay.
-
If looking AEM my mate Chris @ efi-parts in runcorn he sells AEM top lad too. Will have to email him always in workshop no phone in there but can try with number off website.

i always wonder why the hell wmi is so expensive. you can make a for less than £200 with a tank.
-
Guys where do you buy meth from?
Am I being completly stupid but meth is not the same as white spirit, pcv cleaner etc as they arent alcohol based?
 Im googling it and cant find one single supplier just people asking why do I want it lmao
-
all the ones on ebay say 99.5% virgin, if a girl said that to you...................
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=methanol&_sacat=0
-
Woowwww thats cheap
-
So anyone whos running wmi atm are you using 100% meth in the tank or 50/50 meth and water?
-
i use a 45 methanol/55 water mix.

I don't think there are any meth using girls that are virgins?
Thanks for the link to the AEM kit.
If I made a WMI kit for £200 I'd end up like Niki Lauda :embarassed:

i run 40/60 water/meth find cooling a lot better.
-
Don't forget kids, meth can go boom.... Anything more than 50% meth is considered highly flammable :nerd:

Even at 50% it burns well with an invisible flame.

Devils own states their mix is 49 water 51 meth

Would you care to provide details of how you would build the boost activated progressive controller for that price?
-
I would love to know.
Im on the verge of buying devils own meth kit.
Iv sourced meth so know where to buy it now too.
-
I paid £37 for 50 litres of meth in 2x 25L containers from a Polish chap in plymouth.
Search for methanol on ebay, and there are loads of people who buy 1000L at a time for making their own BioFuel, then sell it off by the litre for around 60p/L to make some money back.
by the time you mix it 50/50 with water, it's costing you 30p per litre of solution, so about £1.20 to fill the meth tank, and that'll typically last about the same as a tank of fuel. Very little additional cost for a considerable gain :)

you dont NEED a progressive controller all you need is boost switch. its what i use i have x2 nozzles come on full spray at 8 psi
-
Perhaps, but for another £100 I have a full programmable progressive controller, with a low level indicator and fault indicating LED.
From testing on mine, I've found it runs better when used progressively to start pumping at 7psi ramping up to full pump by 15psi.
Giving it full pump at anything below 12psi seems to cause a minor hesitation as it doesn't need that much fluid yet, reducing nozzle size to counter this means it hasn't got enough at the top end to cool to it's full ability.
-
thats not to take away from your £200 setup, it'll still be hugely effective I'm sure, just that I'd prefer a progressive setup.
Sorry if my first post sounded a bit sh!tty  it was early and I was grumpy!

dont worry about it bro   but what im saying is you dont need a progressive controller to get started.
