Title: Removing heatshield,is it ok to do so.?

Hi guys,i have a problem with a rattley heatshield and was wondering if it is ok to remove this little bugger.Any advise would be appreciated.

if you do you will need to protect the steering column rubber gaitor with some sort of heat shield, i got some heat protection sheet and wrapped it around gaitor
