Bought some s/h avo coilovers from the auto jumble at gti inters,some may have seen them they were the red and yellow ones a bit old but good condition,put them on straight away and they have been good up to now,well they could have killed me today lucky i was only doing 30 when suddenly the shaft snapped just under the top mount where the thread ends making the car violently swerve right into oncoming traffic :shocked:,didnt hit anything thank god but only moments before i was doing x amount of speed so i thank my lucky stars it happend when it did ,havnt got a clue why it did this though :undecided: :shocked:

Ouch. yeah think i saw them. they were on a stall next to the strip towards the end?
glad it didnt end worse. coilovers can be replced lifes cant

Yeah they were the ones, even though it was a low speed incident it was a change yer pants moment :laugh:

Maybe they was for sale because the car they where originally on was wrote off and had bad damage but unseen to the eye

Maybe the lesson here is not to buy second hand suspension. You've certainly put me off the idea.
