hello. right ive got a mk4 1.8t agu with a k03s turbo standard actuator got a few running issues boosts alover place somtimes and its rather jerky through the revs when under full throttle. should you be able to move the actuator? been told yes and others said no. ive gone asfar as pushing a bigish screw driver against it and it still wont move put some wd40 on it and it moved the slightest bit is this normal?
-
Yes with effort you should be able to move the rod on actuator.
If it pulls quite easy then the spring is too weak.
-
hmm thats not good then. ive been at it tonight i can not get it to move ive tried and it still wont move. one bit, put it in gear put abit of load under engine slipped clutch and reved it and it didnt move. should it move by reving it to 4k? thanks in advance danny
-
left it soaked in wd over night and its still not moving anoyone got any ideas? :)
-
Remove and free it up or replace.
-
about 100 quid for a forge one think il just buy one of them to be honest :)
-
you might have clogged VNT then if it won't move at all
-
petrols dont have VNT...
-
managed to free it. wasnt the actuator its self which is seazied it was the bit that goes into the turbo if that makes sense? ahha :) got it warm lots of wd40 big pry bar hammer and it was free and it drives better than ever! boost is alot faster at climbing and seems to hold longer without the surging through the rev range, gonna buy a forge actuator still in a month just so i know its gonna be perfect then,
-
Waste gate was stuck shut?
Woww thats weird, never seen or heard that happen before glad you got it sorted.

Buy the actuator but don't fit it. Save the cash you were going to spend on wheels and get a decent map at the same time as fitting the actuator. Get the car running right, then you'll be quicker than Neil in his TT which he will hate

Yeah, yellow is the one you'll want
-
yeah i think its the red tops they should be ok in mine wont they? there 315 cc. heard a few people running yellow top calibra injectors is that on agu? would i be better buying them than the red tops?
-
nothing wrong with the calibra yellows.
-
would these 315 cc red tops be ok? as i can get them at a fairly good price, or would you go for the calibras? gessing they fit a agu?
