Which engine is it? code letters would be best...
What do you mean with no power? Does it start? Idle normal or going up and down? Cambelt markings all on the spots where they're supposed to be? HT Coil OK?

Adz 1.8
Jut changed belt starts fine drive it down the road it has no power
I have the cam on ot the crank and dizzy I was unsure and tipexed but it won't line up now

Allright, did you put the dizzy on the OT mark when you've changed belt? It may be that the ignition timing is off now....
To correct you'll need a VW tester or VAG COM and bring ECU into setup mode. (Pretty much pointless trying to adjust without it - the ECU will counteract you turning the dizzy!)

When I took it apart and refitted the cam is on OT , the bung in the box is on the big long but as I didn't have the tool to get it out fully I see marks . The dizzy is tipex'ed and on two rotations goes out of line with my marks ,
It's just all gone tits up and wish I never even tried now

Dizzy markings will not match with engine running I think - ECU alters the timing constantly to control idle....
If you are sure that the cam and crank are on OT and the car is driveable go to VW, Audi, Seat or Skoda dealership and talk to a mechanic, they might put the timing right for you for a few pounds... but since it's saturday I'd see if you can find any open garage close to you with VW diagnostics equipment.

Yea think I'll wait for Monday as I work in a dealership out the front we have full vag com will have to wait see one of the lads , just depressing because I can tell its just down to me and my markings

How do you guys unscrew the bung in the gearbox ? Special tool ?
-
Brute force, big set of grips. They do usually break up if they have been in a long time but dealers do them for a few quid.

All done now timed up two teeth out on the crank !
Thanks guys
