Title: VW genuine 16" alloy price quote
Post by: andymcd on 03 August 2012, 22:38
Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what price I should be looking for when selling my alloy wheels that are currently on my VW golf. I have uploaded the picture to the link below. The alloys are all in the same state as the one in the pic :) The reason I am selling them is because I want to put the Monza gti ones on instead!

Thanks,
Andy

I don't think you'd get a great deal for them, as most people are looking to upgrade to a larger size, meaning wheels from a lower model don't have much of a demand.

Personally I keep them and fit winter tyres. Also you can put them back on when you sell the car as you'll be more likely to sell the Monzas on.

Like Dubber has said, best bet is to put winter tyres on, however. Theses are the kind of wheels that would sell well to others for them to use as winter wheels. So don't think they are worthless.

When I was looking last year for a set of cheap alloys for winter, even the standard wheels were extortionate so I ended up giving up. Maybe leave it till October / November when folk have left it a bit late and are willing to pay slightly more for something half decent.

definitely keep them for winter wheels if your upgrading.

Not to hijack the thread but would something like that fit over the GTi brakes or are 17's the smallest you can go?  Just for my knowledge when it comes to winter wheels??

There are a few sets of these for sale local to me on gumtree for around 300-350 with good tyres as a guide price.

16's will fit over 312mm brakes.

If you'd have been offering these, this time last year, I would have bought them, they look good on GTI / GTD....

Trying to log in to golfmk6.com but it's lost my login information, doh!

But basically last year I messaged the guy who owned the car in the pic to ask and he replied that they were
16" Bioline wheels.  If you go trawling through the winter wheel threads on there, sure you can find him.
