Title: Standard mk3 gti stereo

Does any one know what stereo should be in a mk3 gti/colour concept. I'm trying to keep my car totally standard and want to get the oem stereo

I have a mint oem sony headunit from a mk3 1.4 3 door, complete with manual and warranty etc. Can post pics if interested.

It will be total garbage so best not to bother, take a look at the old high end Pioneer HUs from the same era and add a Pioneer Ipod interface, you will be amazed at the sound quality for the price, only drawback is you can't control the iPod from the HU

Anybody wanting to add a standard stereo will know they are pants! But if you get a good radio signal then all is good  :smiley:

Plus hes after standard so best not to jibber on about pioneer! I have 2 standard sony headunits (presume standard, they is old tape decks) but from a mk2 so maybe of no use to you.

Then fine, buy a second hand Nakamichi, Becker or Alpine and focus on sound quality.
