Title: My new 16v anniversary
Post by: 67buggers on 02 August 2012, 22:35
I just brought this  it's not perfect, needs a fair amount of body work and the mot is up in a week....I'm pretty confident it'll pass, will find out tomorrow. It drives amazing has new wishbones, bushes, tyres just been serviced new battery. All the anniversary bits are there too.

Looks to me like you've got your work cut out there! Still, it is an anni so should look good when sorted.
Im staggered at the amount of people who don't use / haven't heard of back to black style products  :undecided:

Also, I've had a run in with one of those antenna mounts on the back window on my friends mk4....bad memories  :lipsrsealed:

Mechanically it seems sound so bit of elbow grease and some love and money! And the body should follow...I was wondering about the antenna on the window....why?!   First plans mot, then low's and wheel refurb. Then save for body work

We couldn't budge it no matter what we tried. Then we started to wonder if there was gonna be a hole in the window when it was removed, so we ceased trying. In the end took it somewhere and god knows how he got it off but he did 'with some effort'. We were too worried about cracking the window to push it too far! And no hole in window either

I hope you checked the sills for MOT

Good luck with the MOT mate, make sure you get her back on top form afterwards. Not many of those around now.

Just a tip on the antena mount as i had one on mine.Think i used a new stanley blade to get it off, just work it around all sides until it comes off,you will be left with some sticky on the glass also again use the blade to remove this but be careful not to scratch your glass or cut yourself.A hairdryer will also help.

 Like you care. You hate MK3s. And if you say you don't, prove it by buying another one with the money you just got from the Skoda.

Whilst I would not normally bother to reply to comments like this, let me make it clear I do not hate mk3's so please do not twist what I said or was posted.

Also why would I buy another, you seem to forget I had one and I never buy the same car twice if I can help it plus what would be the point in buying an older car with all the problems and rust they suffer with.

The Skoda replacement will / maybe be non vag and a lot newer.
