Title: Interior LED's
Post by: MBCGTI on 02 August 2012, 22:09
When I had the Clio I was able to buy a complete set of interior LED lights including door, glove box, boot and interiors.  Was just wondering whether anyone does anything similar on here or if anyone knows of anywhere I could get hold of some?

Seen loads on ebay but I dont really trust them incase they are a load of pish when they arrive.

Cheers

Mike

Dont do maxpower halfords type stuff, some nice bright white lights just to make it look crisp inside.  I was especially looking at the rear numberplate LED like BMW's have as I think they look awesome

Hi, don't be put off by ebay. There some good quality led's out there. I bought all mine off ebay, just search and search and search. Be fussy on what you choose and you'll be fine. For example, i have led's in my interior headling light, (up front) and led's in my boot. Thier extemely bright and white, pls excuse the pun! lol. But as i've got a wealth of experience in soldering, it made it easy and oem looking. Hope that help's

My problem comes when receiving them, im okay with fitting and stuff but if they need any soldering then its way out the question.  Just wish that there was a kit you could order like when I had the clio.

What is it you want to change as all the interior lights are plug and play and don't require soldering!?!
Just buy the amount you need. Simples

All this technical talk was confusing me, might just order some and stick them in.

They are all the same bulb W5W if I remember rightly. The interior bulbs don't give an error on the dash so its pretty simple. Remove and replace.

All interior lights on my ED35 changed to LED and all came from ebay so dont worry about that, and the ED35 has VW LED oem number plate lights so they are available should you want. Still be cheaper to buy on ebay though.....

Yup same as that, I would lie the red for the footwells and white everywhere else.

From reading previous threads on here only reason I have held off is as I have seen comments referencing the size of them causing issues due to the number of led's, can anyone confirm?

Actually bought some today for my mates Scirocco on ebay, just look for VW Canbus or no errors 501 LEDS, the majority are totally fine and cheap that if you buy and not great buy others, The ones i have on my ED35 all came from my Scirocco and I've never had any issues.... There are loads on ebay just take the plunge

The interior don't need to be the error free ones as the car doesn't monitor them
