Right so many of you guys will have seen my 'dub rides' thread of my rebuilt Mk3 Golf Gti 8v, now i'm really happy with it but obviously lacks the power. I also have an 88' mk2 Gti needing restored and have a 2002 Leon Cupra which is off the road just now. They are not really worth much these days and would prob make more money breaking it but thinking of puttin the 1.8t engine in either the Mk3 or the Mk2. I will be looking to sell the mk3 at some point but want to get good money for it but feel its engine will be a stumbling block as abviously its the least desirable. So what would you do, Sell the leon or break it and put the engine in the Mk3 or mk2? I'm looking to make a bit of money one way or another.

You would get more money from a mk3 1.8t and a mk2 gti
Than a mk3 gti 8v and a mk2 1.8t
So 1.8t the mk3!

I think given the work you put into the chassis you need a special engine in it. The 1.8t has been done to death. If you just stick a 180hp motor in it won't be special. I'd go for an engine that isn't so common or a real high spec 1.8t

Well my original plan was to G60 the mk3 using its original engine which would make it quite unique but not got the cash to get all the bits I need so not sure. I don't know!! The Leon is a good car too but very bland in terms of both exterior and interior but also a very good winter car, which I need to have!!

Buy a £200 banger for winter.
A mk3 gti 8v :lipsrsealed:

there are many different 1.8t engines. The 150hp's have been done quite a lot but not so much the 180s and definitely not the 220s. Brads is the only one I've seen in any detail

Fit the 1.8t in the mk2, much more fun
