To be fair he's a dealer, so needs to make a profit. When you take into account he'll be expected to discount that price, offer a warranty and then pay the VAT on any profit he makes, he'll do well to take a grand out of it, which he'll need to deduct his expences from too.
Whatever happens, the eventual new owner will get a cracking car.

Exactly!!
Martin got a good deal and I don't think he will be to bothered about the extra ponies the dealer may get...
a similar thing happened to me when trading in for the GTD...I p/x the out going car for £4500 and the dealer first priced it at £7000 but eventually sold if for £6000 after bartering! and I'm not bothered about the £1500 I may or may not have got...

Yeh someone else on here spotted the car and pm'd me. Oh well least I got nearly 2k more than what BMW offered me so not really lost out. Wish I had held out for more but there you go just one of them things. I've not sold a car privately for over 15 years so a bit rusty with regard to these things.
I'm more sorry that someone on here didn't buy it as I'd have loved to see it go to a good home.
As dubber36 pointed out the guy will be lucky to take a grand out of that.
