:smiley:Hi to everyone
Just picked up my GTI 35th edition yesterday and the beam on my face is yet to disappear.
I've just traded in and coming over from a Scirocco GT and previously Audi S3, Audi TT Quattro Sport, A4 Turbo.
Well the edition 35 is "Something Special".
I driven all these cars and none of them are by any means bad cars but there just something soooo right about this GTI that i havent felt in the others. Sure the S3 was quicker more powerful but less engaging, the TT sport (had 2 seats and a torsion bar and run at 240bhp) was a blast but tiresome and in practicle. The A4 was tidy but lacked grunt.
Its got credibility and poise, planted, right and encouring engine note, sure footed, robust, brilliant pace sprinting and pulling from deep down, i could say more but it really is the car I've worked my way through including passage thru the brilliant if not too refined S3
I've only done 130miles in the GTI since yesterday but its got it all and i'm looking forward to it stretching it legs on roads up north.
I bought direct from the dealer so it was waaaay specced more than i would from build but price was right and its all mine now. Yipppee
Deep Black
Sat Nav RCD510
Park assist and camera
sunroof
Colour DIS
Mudflaps (fronts to be modified to fit by me)
Interior bling added (All LED's)
And lastly as I've seen on other posts while waiting the "elusive keyring" handed over without issue by salesman
This car to be a fave........... Say Aye

My wifes had the Tig for a year, 170bhp 4 wheel drive sport, full leather etc. Its great, plenty grunt and handles well for this type of car, better than her previous CRV. The only critisim i have is that the gearbox feels notchy, the gates must be quite tight and i dont find it very slick....

Totally agree. The "Watkins" really set the car off and the silver is better on the Deep Black than the greys

Just on to rave
Well running in nicely and a wee sunday drive up the A9 to Dalwhinne, across by Laggan, down to Ft William and a ragging thru Glen Coe, Rannoch moor and this is one superbly set up car, with the joy of "Something Special"
Oh and managed a 37mpg while doing the gentle bit up the M90/A9 but a hell of a lot less screaming thru the A82

OMG I used to love that run out when I was living in Spean Bridge especially the run over Rannoch, used to go down to the green welly and then come back via Glen Orchy umm lovely memories.
