I asked this a while ago and didnt get a response and now I need an answer as its MOT time soon
I have red rear lights and when I indicate they are obviously red and when I reverse they are red, I try not to indicate and reverse unless absolutely necessary
someone on here had red lights and I PMd them but got no response this is how red they are http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=76966.5370
any ideas?
Cheers all

i think you need green bulbs for them to flash amber in all red rears
-
or take a look at this

still dont solve it and thats just the yellows, what about the reverse lol, too much messing having one set for MOT and one for looking
-
take your reverse bulbs out. If they're not fitted, they can't test them
-
Or get a 2nd set of rear lights for mot time

I do already have them, but would obviously like to just have the 1 nice set lol
-
Your reverse light isn't required for an mot so that sorts that half ;)
-
what even if its red, or do I just need to remove the bulb so it shows nowt
-
The reverse light doesn't come into the test at all, an mot tester will rarely even put the car ibto reverse other than to back it out of the garage

You want some amber led bulbs with resistors, they will still light up orange through the reds. Thats what i'm putting in my Mk3 once ive tinted the rears red. Someone told me halfords have them on offer just now. Might be worth a look.
-
anyone know which resistors are needed then?
-
50 Watt / 6 Ohm for indicators should be fine.
-
and I take it I place them between the wiring to the bulb :undecided:
-
Yeah, its because the leds use less power an without the resistors they would flash too quickly as if you have a blown bulb.
-
the resistors are massive, are these right :undecided:
