they have their batteries in the boot so you would have (i presume) all the necessary starter cables needed
-
Firstly you un bolt the battery. then you put in the boot. then you pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
no seriously. Have a look on ebay for a bracket. put the bracket in the foot well. take the cable off the starter. run a new longer cable through thefire wall (gromet behind the glov box) down to the boot. then again disconect the negative cable and run to battery aswell. job dobe

why would you move the battery to the back? is it for weight distribution?

ive seen people do it for weight distribution. but in a mk4 a batterys not gonna make any difference :D
some do it to clean up the engine bay

correct
mines abit nose heavy atm as ive took the rear seats out and space saver. plus cleaner looking bay

as said use a wiring kit from a beemer. then use a battery tray again from a beemer, or use a universal one or a sealed box with a vent to outside. either way you have to vent it to outside,i cut 2 30mm holesin the floor and simply ran some alloy tube araldited in place to finush it

Needs to be a sealed battery with a vent to the outside world but easy enough to sort.
