Title: GTI Acceleration Judder/vibration
Post by: sierragls on 28 July 2012, 12:53
hi everyone, im new to the forum. Ive just bought a 1997 colour concept, for the missus to use for work, ive insured it on a classic policy for £180, which was a result. this is my second GTI, i had a 95 mk3 5 years ago which i really enjoyed driving and that is what made me decided to get another one.

Anyway, its got a vibration when i accelerate, it happens at any speed but only when accelerating. Its not the wheels, or balancing, and its got new brakes.

Does anyone know what else could cause this, ive tried doing a search, but couldnt find anything.

I suspect it would be a worn bush, wishbone or driveshaft, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If ya think its not the wheels, how do you suspect that it could be worn bushings?

Could it possibly be engine related? If so it could be a number of things, Maf sensor, fuel pump/filter, vacuum leak, throttle body, timing issues!

Could also be the gearbox

Im sure it's t the engine, it runs fine and revs well. What could it be on the gearbox?

Engine mounts?Could be the front one as they normally perish after a number of years.Worth getting it checked.
