As title says really, just wanted to gain an insight into how good they are and if people would reccomend them. Also how robust/hard-wearing are they - because my current crappy Wesc ones are all cracked on the headband and the left speaker rattles? I'd mainly use them for listenng to music and watching movies on my laptop. The "Monster Beats Pro Headphones Performance Professional White Gray" ones seem promising.
Cheers all
-
Havent had any long term use of them (just lisning to mates music on them for a few mins here and there) there good. but for the money can get better imo.
one of the lads at work has some beauty head phones they cost a little more than beats but there alot better imo. Cant remember the make though.
Thats about all the advice i can give  not very help full

Steer clear, they are rubbish. Too bassy & poorly made.
I work for a big electronics company and the amount we get back is unreal. Usually one speaker not working, or distorted sound. Or cables that come out of the earphone.
Look at 'shure' headphones for the same price. Loads better. I have a mate who is into music making/sound editing and he wouldnt touch anything else.

If you take a listen in a shop, you might think they sound good.
Most think that lots of bass = good sound. Not true.
You do need bass and with headphones that can be tricky, but you also need clear mid and high frequencies.
I work in broadcasting and I would avoid them, even for person use. The word "Professional" in that product name is misleading.
If you're seriously looking at spending that much on headphones, look elsewhere.
I would look at Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, AKG and Shure (as mentioned).
Try:
Sennheiser HD25 II - £125 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-II-Closed-Headphone-headband/dp/B000TDZOXG/)
AKG K550 - £175 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/AKG-Closed-Back-Reference-Class-Headphones/dp/B005CNR7B0/)
Sennheiser HD650 - £275 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD-650-Reference-Headphone/dp/B00018MSNI)
Beyerdynamic DT250 - £136 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-DT250-Headset-80-OHM/dp/B0002V9EA4/)
Headphones are personal thing, so you should really go to a shop and try some out to see whats comfortable on your head

i have them and quite like them as said tho they are very bassy mine have been quite solid tbh
-
Love mine.... as always opinions vary yes there is prob better for the money but i like the look and how they sound IMO
-
I prefer my £45 sennheisers to the dre beats.... i use mine almost everyday in work and they are robust too
-
years ago i had a set of bang and olufsen headphones some skank stole them and iv never heard anything as good as them since
-
Beats are just a fashion/image thing I think personally.
Oooh look at him, he got beats! He's coo and 'ardl!
I see more people wearing them round their neck than on their ears!!

Or someone gets them for free and there nae bad

There are much worse headphones than beats, but for the money you can do so much better.
Would rather have these bad boys for £130.

Shure 840's

Cheers fellas, thanks for the great feedback. And yes I agree with S-l-i-x come to think of it, you do see more people with them around their neck. The main reason why I am interested in them was because there seems to be a sale on the Beats website... not because I'm rolling in it (which I'm not ) haha. Take a look: http://www.beatsheadphonesmonster.co.uk/monster-beats-pro-headphones-performance-professional-white-gray-p-80.html (http://www.beatsheadphonesmonster.co.uk/monster-beats-pro-headphones-performance-professional-white-gray-p-80.html)
They seem like good value for money at £85.28 reduced from £233.73 but perhaps not - But still a saving of 64% (Apparently!)
Shure seem to get decent reviews, I'll have to see if they have any in the £80 zone.
Thanks again lads
-
for them prices id go for it as they are cheap as you will get them
-
I may buy a pair at that price!
-
Wow that is a good deal like defo worth at that price
-
Short answer no
slightly longer answer, they are good headphones well marketed but there are much much better headphone out there that the shure's for example.
unfortunately beats are one of these products that are popular due to marketing and product placement not because the product is anygood, at the end of the day you'll get a half decent sound from them but it's not going to be spectacular and lets face it if you're plugging them into an ipod then sound quality probably isn't paramount to you in the first place.
-
Use them for offshore when watching movies etc have had a few sets over the years like seinheiser etc and I actually like my beats I diddnt buy them so i can't say to much about them but for 80 quid they are not bad better than the sony ones I used previous

i have a set of shure earphones and they produce a great sound... apparently a lot of drummers use them
-
Shure or Seiheisser FTW.
-
Was just doing a bit of digging and I think that site may be fakes, this is the official Beats shopping site:
http://store.universal-music.co.uk/restofworld/beats-by-dr-dre-/on-ear/icat/beats-onear-headphones/
Bit of a price difference don't you think?
-
Jesus yeah... I swear that the site i found was like the first result on google search... thought it did seem a little too good to be true. Plus why would Beats give their products daft prices like £233.57 or what ever it was. I actually tried some on-ear beats today in pc world and didn't rate them at all... and i have cheap gimmickey bright yellow wescheadphones to compare them to. :undecided:
-
Just thought I'd warn you that's all. When I was doing research pretty much everywhere I read said that if they are half the recommended price they are usually fakes. Shame, wanted to get some in-ear ones.
-
I definitely rate Sennheiser cans but my current headphones are these gems, I've yet to fault them tbh. http://www.aiaiai.dk/store/headphones/tma-1

Cheers Shady probably would of bought some to sell aswell, but hey.
Thanks to everyone for your feedback, I'm currently looking into Sennheiser and Shure now they seem pretty good
Thanks again, Les

I bought some Goldring ns1000's on the recommendation from a friend who does a lot of recording/producing. They're just fantastic.. well balanced, comfortable and cheap! (60 quid). The noise cancelling is a dream for using them in the office when I've had enough of hearing wayne kerr business jargon.
