There is a couple of guides for the bora vents, buy loom off ebay or make your own from VW repair wires and connectors (details in the topics)

RCD 200 yes fairly easy to fit but what year is your Golf? as the RCD 200 is a canbus unit so will need either a wiring adaptor and canbus wires running to instr. cluster (2001>) or a wiring adaptor with canbus emulator (>2001)

The loom can be made utilising the original plug, (part number 1J0 973 119) but you will need to purchase the corresponding sockets from VW (part number 1J0 973 332) and three repair wires for the terminals (part number 000 979 131),

Also instead of repair wire you can buy terminals on their own.. N10318905 @ £0.39 + VAT each to fit the connector quoted above. Then you just need some 0.50mm wire in colour(s) of your choice or original colours if preferred :)

Check these two guides out...

http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/120319.aspx

or buy on ebay? I haven't seen one to verify quality of these though...

I'll be making my set 100% OE spec, as it happens I picked up a socket connector and pins today as I'm wiring in passenger door alarm LED to work with drivers one. As they are the same as used in Bora vents loom I'll post up a photo...

If you're able to crimp connectors its a no brainer to take this route over repair wires which need to be cut in half and extended anyway!

This loom tape may also be of interest...
