He's just too good. Some of the tricks you can sort of guess how he does them, but other, especially the ones that involve thought and physics like levitation and gravity are just unreal.
-
camera tricks
-
Awesome. Some of his sh!t is amazing.
-
He has put the cool back into stage/street magic. I can figure out how some of his stuff is done, but much of it, I can't
-
It might be the sceptic in me, but I can't watch him. Every time I see him do a trick I'm never convinced that it's real, there is always a break in the camera shot or something conveniently in the way of the camera. I don't believe any of it is real.

Do you mean that you think it is all camera tricks, and that you think he is never properly doing any magic tricks?

Yeah pretty much, when someone does something like melt his hand print into a glass panel I just think it's bull.

Well of course it isn't real, it is a "trick" the fun part is figuring out how he does it. that type of magic is all about misdirection, illusion and sleight of hand

Magicians annoy the f**k out of me, especially Dynamo.

With you on this. I guess some of his tricks are impressive, but Dynamo himself really f**king annoys me.
-
He is a real good card manipulator like most other street magicians. But as Dom says, it is blatant camera tricks. He must have people in on the trick. Like this 'vanishing into thin air' trick...f**king horse sh!t.
-
He does very good card tricks and can read peoples eyes very well but the rest is blatant camera trickery using actors.
-
I know how he put his hand through the glass counter to pick up the expensive jewellery, no camera trick there
-
all his tricks can be explained.
-
all his tricks can be explained.
by who... him?
hes good, but i still think derren brown is better.... although I really dont like either of them, but appreciate the skill and effort that goes into their work

By most people who have done, or do practice that type of entertainment. I used to do it in my late teens for kids parties, and my own amusment

Have you read Derren's book "Tricks of the Mind" it is quite entertaining!

I do love the masked magician... he made that dude that slept in a box look like a right cnut!!!
Many of dynamos tricks are easy to figure out. It the other ones...
such as going throught the glass at Rio the gay ferdinands party?? explain that one
-
explain that the jacket being held up and the bouncer next to them completely cover access to the door
-
I know someone who was i the audience for that, I don't know them too well so they wouldn't say how it was done exactly, but did say if you were on the other side of the black cloth it wasn't all that spectacular

i think thats a pretty good explanation... lets face it, if you know how you can do any of them
-
The Rio one was very obvious with the bouncer...can anyone explain the trick with the father and son where they pick a card at random from two packs of cards and they were the same? Both decks were shuffled, cards were all different...dynamo didn't touch them....

The easiest way I can think that was done was with two special decks of cards. I used to have some years ago, but I can't remember what they are called...anyway, they work by every card has the same one card (for e.g. 9 of spades) that is cleverly magnetised to the back. So no matter if you fan them out or flick through them the card you will choose is the same card.

He rung a couple of coolers

pretty sure that it's a waxed deck he was using.

This one had my sister baffled

is that what the deck is called, I couldn't remember as I last had them over 20 years ago. I just remember that they had the same card that stuck to the back of the other cards.

The best in the biz by a country mile.
My cousin works for an event organisation company and they put together a bash for a host of EPL footballers and hip hop and r&b artists last summer. Dynamo was at the top of their list and he made a cool £300k for a 3 hour walk around show. Plus his time travelling from Leeds+Bradford airport to JFK, Queens, NY.
I sure as sh!t wouldn't mind being on that money!

I can't even watch it now as I know its all camera tricks and actors. Some of the basic stuff is genuine though.
