Just a quick Q.
Does this splitter have less clearance than the standard one?
I ask as I already scrape going into and ot of my drive as it's on a slope off a flat road!
-
In a word...yes, it has less clearance.
-
but it looks so much nicer than the gti one

It gives the front of a mk3 a more 'business like' look, well worth it.

Get a genuine one and they take quite a beating
-
I have two genuine vr6 splitters.
They take a bashing I've folded mine in half several times. Before the genuine I had 3 cheap splitters in 2 months
Gen has lasted a year on my car and prob 17 years before me
-
My stock one gets ripped out when I reverse up my drive though  I can't imagine a cheap one would even last a week!

Cheap ones are a fail!!! got a OEM one on the way at lest thats what the listing said it was only £16 on the bay so kinda thinking maybe not lol.

i fitted my cheap ass ebay early vr6 £15 splitter today, fitment is pretty poor to be fair and its gonna need some sealant on the edges to keep it held on, it doesnt quite fit where both pieces of splitter join up(bit too short!) but the car does look a million times better and already ive scraped it coming out of the petrol station!
oh well better start looking into a oem one, can anyone shed any light on costage?

I got a gen one for £5  had a small crack init when I got it. But been on a year and taken a lot of bashing and still going strong

Genuine one will take a lot more abuse, I broke 2 ebay ones.
