Title: Tyre help please
Post by: funk3y on 25 July 2012, 15:00
Need some help with tyres.  Just been to a few garages for quotes and I havent raelly heard of any of there mid range brand options.  Looking to spend upto £100 a tyre inc fitting on my golf running around 210bhp.

Can someone recommend the best options in that price range.  Prestivos are £140 for the pair fitted.  Dunlops £226 fitted at my local garage.

tyre size 225/4018

I'm running falken 452's at the moment, in the dry they are excellent especially with the heat we've got at the moment. However in the wet they're pretty bad :undecided:

I cant seem to find any for the price you paid.  Also with asymmetric ones wouldn't you need all 4 on the car? As Ill only be replacing 2 atm.

Goodyear F1s are awesome tyres dry or wet but they do wear quickly and are absolutely useless in the snow.

I'm swaying towards Rainsports when need to replace as they are slightly cheaper. Had them on a previous car found them to be decent in the dry and plenty of grip in the rain which given our climate is unfortunately most of the time

x2

ATS are doing 25% off 4 Michelin tyres or 15% off 2, this is an in branch only offer so not available online, they did 4 PS3's for £550 fitted

Michelin also have a cashback deal on at the moment link (http://marketing.michelin.co.uk/buynow/)

With the £50 cash back it cost me £500 for a set of PS3's (£125 a corner) fitted which was cheaper than Uniroyal's, Goodyears, Conti's, Pirelli's etc :afro:
