Title: Eibach springs question
Post by: sveed1.8T on 24 July 2012, 18:07
In january this year, I had fitted:

-30mm Eibach springs
-Bilstein B4 shocks
-New wishbones (with new ball joints)
-New top mounts (albeit not expensive ones)
-Skoda VRS rear beam bushes

Whilst out driving today, I couldn't help but notice the prominent creaking from my front springs (drivers side in particular)! Also, I noticed when parking up, when I turned slowly left, the steering was creaking like a biatch! :undecided: I don't think my car is liking all this hot weather!!

I had a search to see what could be causing the noise, but I don't get it, because most of the parts were newly fitted 6months ago! :undecided:

The top mounts weren't and the ball joints were from ECP, but everything else is genuine!

Track rod ends seem like a plausible explanation for the noise when turning, do I think I'll replace them in order to rule it out!

Minus the creaking, the ride is really nice! Can chuck it into corners better without the immense body roll from the standard set up!

sweet. track rod ends are easy enough to change as well. the hardest bit i generally find is undoing the big nut at the end. blow torch works nice

The Army/MOD are saving the day remember!

Track rod ends only cost a few bob, think mine cost me £15 from a garage, and are real easy to replace. You may notice a difference after replacing them both so do it any how
