Title: horn trouble anyone?
Post by: gti210ps on 23 July 2012, 23:20
my horn sounds like a 5-year old girl.  Called the dealer, they said probably one of the two horns has died.  Anyone had any experience with this?  Anyone knows how easy it is to correct this issue?

A mate of mine had this problem recently on a Ford and he was embarrassed to use it - it did sound really puny! He sold the car, although I don't think that was the reason for selling it!

I also had the problem on a mk4 Escort XR3i back in the 80's (I sense a bit of a Ford thing going on here). It was easily fixed under warranty though.

I had this on my A3 and the problem was indeed that the low tone horn had died! Very embarrassing to say the least

Not long, can't remember whether they had to drop the bumper or not, or if they did it by removing the fog lights

Can't remember where the horn is located but it's certainly not a big job

just got a call from my dealer. I'll be taking the car in, they said it would be ready within a day. included in warranty so that's not too bad i guess
