Hi guys I've been busy swapping my old agu for the new one after my oil pick up pipe blocked and seized the engine :( the swap has gone really well and everything is finally back together again :D. However I went to start it on saturday and it just clicked but didn't turn over :( I herd everything prime etc as normal but didn't turn over, i wasn't 100% where the earth went as a start? ( The earth that feeds from the battery tray.. I can't seem to locate where this goes, and I was wondering if it matters? And does anyone have any ideas as to why its not turning over? Just any suggestions please? I know I've had everything apart so it could be anything, but at least if ppl can give me ideas then I can keep checking things. Thanks in advance.

if that earth isn't touching what it should be then chances are the starter won't engage
I'm sure someone will know where it goes, I don't without looking lol
-
I am pretty sure the earth is below the battery tray :undecided:
If you remove the tray it should be clear where it goes.
Dont take my word for it but im pretty sure im right.
-
Ok so there's the earth that obv connects to the battery.. Then do u mean the other half of it connects under the battery tray? ?
-
Atm i just can't seem to spot where it would go, I remembered everything else but not that lol :(
-
Arhh man I cant remember exactly but im removing mine tomoz AGAIN lol
So il have a quick peep.
There is one big black wire that goes from the starter the negative on battery, I cant think of anything else.
You have lights etc on dash? ie battery is good yeah?
-
Yeah the starter negative from the battery is the one I'm trying to locate mate, and yeh everything lights up as it should etc, but not turning over :s so I'm just assuming its that atm..
-
And yeah battery is ok, but I tried jump starting it anyway and that didn't do anything either. It has the earth coming from the battery, then under the battery tray the earth splits and then the other half of it looks like it goes lower down the engine bay, but I just can't see any points to where I could bolt it on..
-
I'll have a look later but as you said, from memory it goes from under the battery to the terminal and splits to the alternator an starter.
-
That's right mate, I've got the one going to the alternator so that's sorted lol, just puzzled at where the other one goes :s. Do u know if it matters? As long as its a good earthing point? If u find it later could u possibly put a pic up please?

from the last time i done a swap i am pretty sure the other earth attaches to one of the gearbox bolts .

Thanks mate, I have been speaking to a few ppl and I was starting to come to the conclusion that it would need to go on the box. Will give it a go :)
