Title: knock when pulling away?

i've developed a slight knock on my mk2 gti, it only seems to do it when pulling away sounds a bit like an engine mount but not sure , any ideas.  :undecided:

i had that problem and it was an exhaust bracket... they fixed it for nowt at north eastern tyres and exhausts .... i just batted my eyelids.... :kiss:

Sounds to me like it could be exhaust .

is a clunky type knock? it sound like a engine mount if its a clunk. easiest way to check, get someone to sit in the car, put the handbreak on, and go to pull away. if it looks like your engine is trying to climb out the car then its an engine mount.

all sorted now it was the radiator that had'nt been fitted correctly so when i was pulling away it was banging on the top panel. :smiley:
