just ordered the whole water pump/cam belt 'kit' to stick to the 4 year/60,000 mile routine, and ive been told that there's a surcharge on the water pump 0f £30 if i dont hand over the old one within 2 weeks :undecided:
anyone else had this,as ive never heard of it happening? this is from the main stealers (audi) near me.
problem was,i didnt plan on getting it fitted till just before the m.o.t (november),and now im struggling to get the garage i prefere to fit me in within the next 2 weeks.(im no spanner man sadly)
i had this when i replaced my downpipe/cat,but a bloody water pump? FFS! what scrap value has a water pump got?
sooooo..... anyone got a old water pump off a mk4 golf (agu) that they can send me?!!(id guess not if this is the norm!)
cheers.

VW dont spicify a time to change the water pump iv had a decussion with VW uk about it - but they fail for a pass time thats why most people change it at every cambelt change.

TPS gave me 4 weeks and even swopped out a none OE item.
Good service I would say.
Fir such a crucial part, I wouldn't go anywhere else
