Title: Dark Knight Rises
Post by: Mitching on 21 July 2012, 12:56
Anyone seen it?

I saw a midnight showing last night, didn't get out the cinema till 3am!
Bloody good film though, and even if you don't like the batman films, it's worth it to see Anne Hathaway as catwoman.

Wasn't so bad you felt the need to shoot your way out of the cinema then?

That's awful
I feel like that every time I go to Milton Keynes (which is where the cinema is), I've learned to suppress it though!

This.  I don't know whether it was the cinema set up I was in, but the music was intrusive, dominating the film, not supporting it.

The big question is, who's going to pick up the baton and try and follow up Christopher Nolan's work?

He was good but did anyone else find it difficult to understand him at times  :undecided:

Yes - kinda ties in with the cinema sound issue I felt about the film.  Sometimes I wish they'd turn it down a touch, so it's not so overwhelming.

Oh f*ck, I'm 80.

I thought it was too loud in the cinema too.
I think the issues with Bane's voice was due to the fact it was added in post-production, so the levels must've been off for cinema sound. Plus he sounded like Sean Connery with the occasional touch of Brian Badonde.

Sean Connery mixed with Brian Badonde is literally the most perfect description of the voice I could possibly think of

I loved the voice, made the film better I think

this wasnt an issue with the cinema i was in... but then i did pay extra for premier seating

in honesty, you are right.... although I wouldnt say it was too loud, i did notice that with longer speech scenes Banes voice had reduced 'boominess' to it. Although this made it slightly easier to understand him. May have just been something the cinema did to stop this very issue. :undecided:

I'm sure it was supposed to be 'dominating' but it was just boomy.

I would most definately put it down to the cinema itself. I have had this previously where its so loud it kills the desired effect.

Halfway through the film, Banes voice went from boomy to, like you've said, quite easy to understand him.

Definitley worth the £17.80 for me & the missus to go though! Anne Hathaway in that outfit *giggidy*

due to size and currently a sore back, standard seats are a no no for me. Odeon near me wants £27.50 a throw for the gallery tickets!

Just been to see it this afternoon. Great film, not as good as The Dark Knight though.

Anne Hathaway was beyond hot in this though! SOOOOO HOT.

She's also in a film called "Love and other drugs". Basically her just topless for half of the film.

Yes, she is just naked throughout most of it, not a bad film in fairness, was kinda forced to watch it by the misses but it paid off in the end.

Saw it last night. Twas quite enjoyable, but about 30min could've been cut out of it and the main plot lines were a bit predictable. I liked Bane though, and actually understood most of what he said. Maybe they turned it down a bit in our cinema?

As previously stated, not as good as The Dark Knight, but relatively good overall. 7.5/10
