How long does it take to change,, wot kida price am I looking at eney 1 help me cheers

from what i can remember around £250 for parts and labour you can get it done cheaper than that though would depend on if your using dealers kit or not aswell as tps etc their kit will be cheaper than dealers

think I paid around £270 that was with a new water pump as well and genuine parts.

Well I paid the parts my old man fitted it haha

Dont skimp on parts either mate TPS or VW for parts thats the last thing you need the belt snapping etc after you k04'd it and spend silly money on it elsewhere  :evil:

£260 from mid vw, that's with change of dampers aswell that a bargin

On autodata says 2.2hrs so i'd say 2 and half with pump, Mine took 4hrs could get bracket back in bloody nitemare. Fitting cambelt itself and pump easy just bracket, could get it out then back in. :cry: I know how do it now got get engine in correct position easy, do it again easy 2hrs.

never understand why people risk it buying cheap cambelts. yeah ok use a gates belt or a dayco belt as thats what vw use but a ebay cambelt? sounds nasty to me! and water pumps are known for been crap on 1.8ts so why put a even cheaper one on it?

maybe but it was only 6 months ago since the metal fin water pump was fitted
