Title: Newbie ? Standard side skirts for a 5 door?

Hi folks,

maybe a silly question :huh:
I have 1.6 cl 1998 and I like the look of the side skirts on a the gti but I do not want to fit the arches. Is this possible, do they just clip on or tiger seal?

Also are they difficult to come by?

they were screwed on at the factory... so you'll need to drill some holes and do the same (tiger seal may work? i would do both myself and use a few less screws)


b.t.w the later vr6 used the same sill covers without the wheel arches fitted

plenty getting broken/scrapped now the prices are rock bottom.... so they should be fairly easy to find although you may need to replace the inserts which are vw only (they rust and look naff/fall off!)
