Title: Poly. Bushes
Post by: stevesmitMK2Gti16v on 04 October 2003, 11:47
Hi all,
I'm going to put some H&R -40mm lowering springs on my '89 MK2 16v in a couple of weeks and decided I would replace the standard rubber bushes with Poly. Powerflex ones at the same time.
Looking on various websites of places that sell them Im a little confused as to which ones I need to replace e.g. Front wishbone bush? Rear axle bush? Anti-roll bar bush? bump stops?
Any advice appreciated,
Cheers.

Change the bump stops on the shock absorbers for sure. Front wishbone bushes and anti roll bar bushes can be done ok, rear axle bushes are a pain in the arse to replace.

yeah the fronts are a darn sight easier than the backs, you probably need a press to get the rear swinging arm bushes in the axle beam and one word of warning, only do them up tight when the axle is on the ground otherwise you'll shag them.

Let me know how the fronts go as I thinking about doing them also.
