Title: Static+
Post by: tweed on 17 July 2012, 09:04
Anyone use them?
What are you thoughts?
It will cost best part of £1000 once fitted and is it worth it?

Are these balloons that you rub on your head, and they stick to the ceiling?

Surely just a way for those with bottomless pockets to play one upmanship.

It sounds usefull for a really low car but bags would do the same job

I honestly don't want air ride. I want a good set of coilovers with the option of lifting it up 50mm at bumps. I'm looking at adjustable top mounts too. Basically I would like to do some track days and air ride won't be as good as coilovers

Air ride wont be as good as coilovers may be correct, but the static+ kit, although seems like a good kit, will it be any good on a track?

Its seems like a street kit not a track suitable kit

Stuart had some on his mk4 golf, he had joms with the static+ seemed to work well. He said it was good and was very helpful for speed bumps etc

I'm sure he didn't pay that much though?

They fit any 22mm coilover and when aired out it's all coilover doing the work. They basically sit on top of the coilover

Ahh so the full kit isnt supplied with coillies haha... that would make sense!

So you put the kit on YOUR track suitable coillies and off you go?

Never sure on this - you want to roll low and lift the car up, but by adding these to the top your suspension you already lift it up higher than it was before anyway?

I guess another thing to look at are the KW's which have the system built in? Big bucks though i think
