Title: coilpack recall code
Post by: oceanic-green on 16 July 2012, 19:34
Does anyone know what the coil pack code for the AUM engine is that is being recalled. i.e. does it end in a D or a G ?

Thanks

They replaced mine foc  I only asked the coil pack number code, because a while ago I bought 4 new coil packs from TPS, before I new about the recall. So what I did was put the old coil packs in before I went to VW, so I now have a spare set as well

My coil packs kept popping out, so I rang the stealers and gave them my reg, 4 spanking new coil packs for free.

Just ring them up and ask, who doesnt want some brand new coil packs?

It only applies to certain cars, mainly AUM and AUQ I think. AGU are not part of the recall afaik...anyway, the reason I asked what the code is on the recalled coilpacks, is because I had already replaced mine before I new about a recall. Therefore, I wanted to know what coilpack code was being recalled, because I wondered if the ones I had bought from TPS about a year or so ago were ok, or were part of the recall batch. It turned out that the ones I had bought from TPS were the good ones, and therefore if I left them in my engine when taking my car to VW for the recall work, then they would not of replaced them. Soooo, I took them out and put the  original faulty coil packs back in so that they would replace them foc, which they did. And now I have a spare set of coilpacks
