Title: Mk4 V5 European model... question
Post by: gti_mk3 on 15 July 2012, 16:46
Dear forum.
I'm looking at buying a mk4 v5, and the car I've seen looks pretty genuine and tidy. However it was originally bought in Germany and re-registered over here (original sales receipt and DVLA stamp).

So I've done my homework on here prior to posting and this poster says they are worth less money as they are not recognised by VAG uk.

But to be honest I wouldn't be looking to sell it on - or have it serviced by a main dealer. So other than sourcing genuine parts from a VW dealership is there any other reason to not buy a Euro car? Its lived all its life in UK so its not like it has Euro spec headlights or anything.

Appreciate any advice,
Cheers

Buy a 1.8t, much better bet than a V5

No no, buy a 1 Series, much better than all the rest.
