if anything like doing mine lots of elbow grease lots of grades of sandpaper and a polishing wheel and polishing compound, done mine twice as good see pits in it close up and wasnt happy with it.
just need to paint your cover now for the added bling makes it stand out i think when its painted.
how i bought it

first round of polishing
(http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x222/nofearmadbiker/polishedthrottlebody.jpg)
and with the covers i painted fitted with nice new badges cost me a packet, new clips the whole lot.

was well impressed with end result though brightens up engine bay a treat.

this might sound like a dumb question but I take it you must remove the manifold in order to get it looking so good? also by removing it will it effect anything or mean that the vag would have to reset anything?
-
Looks awesome that - I prefer the no engine covers though
looks good when you see them polished up though
-
done mine on the car removed dipstick and blocked with rag covered my induction with a bag as the last thing you want in engine is aluminum dust and covered rest of engine, also degreased engine after to make sure was free from aluminium dust wanted to buy spare manifold to do whole thing and would love to polish rocker cover but need car to use so unless i buy a spare will not be able to do it, dont like taking car off the road so was easy for me to just paint covers you dont see much of manifold with covers on anyway.
-
love seeing this bay always looks very nice a few more green silicone hoses now would set it right off
-
Thanks everyone
Baiscly quick load down on how I did it
I got a dremal300i, I used quite a few sanding wheels.
Then 240 Wet & Dry
Then 400 Wet & Dry
Then 600 Wet & Dry
Then 1200 Wet & Dry
Then Dremal but with a polishing/buffing Pad with AutoSol Chrome
Polish stuff
But yes Big Stevie, I'm in the process of spraying my engine cover, Front Badge and interior trim to the colour of my scheme.
Watch for my posted topics & Dub Project soon the for updates
If anywon is being serous and needs a quick Guide in how
To do this Poishing Mod... PM me
And lastly NINO... No it stayed on was
Kinda frustrating but everything takes time, no need to rush.
But yea a lot of elbow grease is needed ahah
Thanks chaps for ur comments
